Stronger together...

Vision works in collaboration with the following partners to enhance the vitality of the English-speaking community of Gaspé.


Centre de santé et de services sociaux de La Côte-de-Gaspé (CSSS)

Vision supports the CSSS to ensure services are delivered to the English-speaking population through the CLSC's, Hospital and long term care facilities. Recent programs that the English-speaking community have participated in are the Day Centre for Seniors in Barachois and the Stand-up Program held in Douglastown. Vision has a representative on the conseil d'administration and the projet clinique committees. 


Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN)

CHSSN has played an integral role in the founding and development of Vision. They were involved with the community visioning exercise that led to the creation of Vision as an organization and are our main funder. CHSSN continues to provide organizational and project support to Vision through the Community Support Team, which has resulted in Visions' growth and success as a community based organization.



Educational Institutions

The Gaspe-Perce Community Learning Centre incorporates the three English schools in Gaspé; Gaspé Elementary, Belle Anse School and the Gaspé Polyvalent as well as the Adult Education Centre. Vision supports the activities of the Community Learning Centre and is a member of the Partnership Table. Vision provides workshops on nutrition for students and parents, in the schools and promotes the 5/30 health challenge in March of each year.


Council for Anglopohone Social Action (CASA)

CASA activities cover the Gaspe Coast therefore, working in partnership is integral. CASA and Vision collaborate on project development resulting in increased benefit and services for the English-speaking community of Gaspe. CASA provides financial support to Vision.



Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de le Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine

Vision represents the English-speaking community of Gaspe on the Regional Access Committee, supporting the development and implementation of the Access Plan in the CSSS de la Cote-de-Gaspe. The Agence is currently undertaking a recruitment project to bring more health professionals to the Region.



McGill University

Vision is working on the Training and Retention of Health Professionals Project - Retention and Dis.tance Support. This project provides funds for a Community Education Campaign focussing on recruitment and retention of students in the Health and Social Services sector. Vision is working with high school students to encourage them to consider a career in the health field as employment options continue to grow in this area. Vision supports the CSSS with their stagier program as together we hope to increase the number of Health Professionals able to respond to English clientele.



FADOQ


Vision works with FADOQ to ensure seniors are benfitting from the advantages of becoming a Seniors Club member and also in providing workshops to Seniors' Clubs. Vision has a place on the local table addressing Elder Abuse.



Ville de Gaspé and Ville de Percé

Vision represents the English-speaking community on the Family Policy Committees (Politique Familiale). We are fortunate to receive organizational insurance through the Ville de Gaspé.
